We’re currently searching for a new lead pastor, and that’s no small endeavor.
There’s a lot that goes into a pastor search, from the technical aspects of finding and hiring a pastor, to the relational and emotional aspects going on in the congregation during the search. This has the potential to be a time of great anxiety or strife for Shallowford, but instead, we’re choosing to rest in God’s love, care for one another, and come together in prayer.
During the month of June, we prayed together through a daily devotional written by members of Shallowford, and we shared weekly encouragement and prayer on our social media channels.
Even though the official month of prayer is over, the prayer doesn’t have to stop! You can still download the devotional and pray with us, as we continue to rest in God’s love and guidance. You can also find links to the encouragement posts below.
Thank you for supporting Shallowford Church during this time of transition! Your prayers are much needed and much appreciated!

Justin kicked off our Month of Prayer with an invitation to our congregation and all of our social media followers to pray with us through the daily devotional.

This week David discusses the prayer focus of Waiting and Trusting in God’s Timing.
Waiting for God to move can be tough. But these times of waiting are times of preparation for what God has in store. God is not being slow. He’s being thorough. Join us in praying that we will wait well and trust God to move at the right time.

In this week’s video, Cristina discusses the prayer focus for the week: Trusting God to Provide for Our Needs and to Reveal His Will.
Romans 8:28 tells us that God works all things together for the good of those who believe in Him. And God promises in Jeremiah 29:11 that He has good plans for us to provide a future and a hope. We can rely on these promises, trusting that God has not forgotten us and that He is doing good things for us during this transition period.

This week, Madison leads us through a devotion on remembering our identity as the Bride of Christ. As Christ’s bride, we are chosen, treasured, and cared for by Him. Because he treasures us, He provides for us in His perfect timing. Please join us in praying that we’ll continue to rest in the truth that God has chosen each of us, that He loves us, and that He provides all that we need.

In this week’s video, David discusses praying for preparation of our hearts for new leadership and moving forward in faith. We are praying for God to cultivate a soft and receptive culture within Shallowford for our incoming pastor, whoever they may be, and that we will step boldly into the next chapter that God has for us.

Over the last month, God has met us where we are, softened our hearts, reminded us of His power and His care for us, and began preparing us for what’s to come. We are grateful to Him for all He is doing and know He will keep moving among us as we continue our pastoral search.
Thank you to everyone who has prayed with us, whether you’re a member of Shallowford or you’ve never attended a service with us or anything in between. It has been a great encouragement to know there was a body of believers praying in unity for our church. We so appreciate all of you! Thank you, and keep praying!
