COMMUNITY GROUPS ARE FOCUSED ON RELATIONSHIPS.

Community Groups are focused on Relationships. There are three types of relationships.

Gracious hospitality.

Romans 15:7 — 7 Therefore welcome one another, just as Christ also welcomed you, to the glory of God.

We receive people as Christ has received us: in grace and kindness. We want to welcome people exactly where they are and make sure they know they have a safe place to belong and become. We do not impose our dreams for community on others, but rather receive people where they are in grace.

Patient presence.

Ephesians 4:1–3 — 1 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Change and growth takes time. We are all unfinished in the process of becoming who God wants us to be. We want to commit to being present with one another during the patient process of change. We can love others by giving them the space and time it takes to experience real and lasting change.

Tender Truth.

Ephesians 4:15–16 — 15 But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into him who is the head—Christ. 16 From him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building itself up in love by the proper working of each individual part.

One of the primary ways we love others is by encouraging them in the truth. We point one another to Jesus, remind one another of who we are in Christ, and share the beautiful truths of God's word. Gracious hospitality and patient presence are the perfect context to encourage one another with the truth of Jesus.
