The foundation of everything we do is a personal relationship with Jesus. We do not just want to change your behavior, clean you up, or get you to show up to more church events. We want you to know Jesus.

Knowing Jesus means knowing who He is. It means knowing what He has done for you to give you life. It means recognizing that a man from Nazareth really is God. It means recognizing that man really did live a perfect life and die a death he didn’t deserve but he rose again to live forever.

In his death, he takes our place, so that in his life we can take his place.

Now, he invites us into his life to be with him in love forever. We take hold of this new life with Jesus by faith. It’s not something we deserve, achieve, or earn. Then, for the rest of our days we get to live with Jesus in his perfect love for us.

Baptism

At Shallowford, we practice baptism as a celebration of someones’ new life in Christ. Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change. As we baptize, we immerse you under water and raise you back up to symbolize your union with Christ in his death and resurrection.
